01What does a wagering requirement mean?
A wagering requirement is a stated total of qualifying stakes that must be recorded before restricted bonus funds or associated winnings become withdrawable. It is often expressed as a multiplier. The multiplier alone is incomplete: the terms must say what amount it applies to.
A rule may refer to the bonus only, or to another defined balance. Do not assume that the deposit and bonus follow the same withdrawal rules. Promotional wording and the account's actual terms should be read together.
Bonus only: 20 × 5 = 100. Deposit + bonus: (20 + 20) × 5 = 200. The same multiplier can describe very different restrictions.
02Why the calculation base matters
In a purely illustrative offer, a bonus of 20 units with a 5× requirement on the bonus produces a qualifying-stakes total of 100 units. If the same multiplier applies to a 20-unit deposit plus a 20-unit bonus, the total becomes 200 units.
Those totals describe counted stakes, not a fee, a required extra deposit or an amount you will get back. Reusing a balance can contribute to turnover, while losses can exhaust it before a requirement is reached. Completing a requirement does not guarantee a profit.
03Read beyond the multiplier
Game contribution is the share of a stake counted towards the requirement. If contribution is 10%, a stake of 10 units counts as 1 unit of qualifying turnover. Some games may contribute nothing. This explains the condition; it is not a recommendation to play through it.
Keep a dated copy of the offer and its terms. If two pages disagree, ask support to identify the applicable rule in writing before accepting the offer. Choosing not to accept a bonus is also an option.
What to check
- The eligible country, account, currency and deposit method.
- The calculation base, game contribution, expiry and maximum permitted stake.
- Any winnings cap and what cancelling the bonus does to each part of the balance.
